For this project, we filled in 250 yards of a ditch in Kettle Moraine State Forest to connect some wetlands removing all invasive trees and weeds so that more native grasses can be planted to continue the wetlands and improve the ecosystem.
Healthy wetlands are important for many reasons such as improving the water quality and wildlife habitat, ecosystem productivity, and more. We go above and beyond to enrich the land in order to create a thriving environment.
It was important for this job to remove invasive plants because plants that are not native harm the environment. The invasive plants reproduce much more quickly and vigorously than the indigenous plants. By replacing invasive plants with native plant species, this area will continue to improve over time.
